Alumni Center at Keene State College
The Center provides a focal point on campus … a home for KSC Alumni to come back to and a place for students to connect with the larger Keene community. The building’s architectural references are consistent with the Historic Neighborhood District in which it resides. The architects included the restoration of an adjacent 1860 home in the integrated design, retaining historical features that echo the generations and legacy of the College’s many alumni.
Built during the College’s Centennial, and dedicated in 2010, the Alumni Center is a gathering place for alumni, students, and friends of Keene State. Spacious Centennial Hall hosts alumni meetings, job fairs, Golden Circle luncheons, lectures, concerts, and many other events. Conference rooms, a call center, and project spaces throughout the building allow alumni to meet with students, the business community, nonprofit groups, and others.
A portion of the facility designated as the Barry Alumni Center continues the legacy of the College’s first alumni director, Fred Barry ’36.
The building exceeds the Sustainable Design standards of the University Campus, and includes:
- More than 21,000 square feet of ADA-compliant space
- Environmentally friendly building materials
- Facilities designated for volunteers involved in programs throughout the College
- Large multi-use event hall for functions engaging the College’s broad community
- Calling and survey center to help reach out to alumni and parents
- Alumni archives and library
- Meeting spaces and conference rooms
- Sufficient parking to allow visitors safe access to the campus through the Center
- Offices for the departments comprising the division of Advancement
- Areas for alumni and students to meet and socialize
