![]() ![]() ![]() Working with the Waldorf High Mowing School to expand programs and improve the campus environment for the students, we developed a masterplan expressing their vision for the future. The first phase saw the completion of the Dr. Bruce Bairstow Science and Technology building. The 10,000 square foot teaching facility contains an auditorium, science and research labs, a digital arts studio and a solarium. The second phase of the plan includes a new classroom wing, the expansion of the Dining Hall and revisions to the main entry of the central Main Building. Future plans include a performing arts building, dormitory, and gymnasium. ![]() ![]() ![]() Architect: Thomas M. Close-packed silicon atoms arrange in a hexagonal pattern like ice and grow as a six-sided quartz crystal. Due to its electromechanical, or piezoelectric, properties, pressure on quartz yields electricity, while electric current put into quartz from a battery produces regular mechanical pulses, hence, the ‘tick’ of the ‘quartz watch’/ Even in this most modern sense the Hexad is associated with order and timekeeping.
