Stonewall Farm is a working dairy farm whose mission is to promote an understanding of, and an appreciation for, New Hampshire’s farming heritage. Built with local “Green” materials, this new post and beam facility was created to meet the diverse educational needs of the community, and to teach sustainable agriculture and care for the natural environment.

The project includes a large classroom for school group programs, a workshop for hands-on projects, and the “Great Mow” or Community Room, with a fieldstone fireplace, for conferences and larger events. A rotating exhibition space is located adjacent to the reception desk and farm crafts store. The administrative offices are located above a drive-thru sleigh barn which shelters the farm’s draft horses.

Some unique features of this project include the reuse of an old grain silo from Upstate New York, select recycled timberframe members, reclaimed stair components and wood plank flooring from a Bakers Lite factory in Connecticut and the use of low UV paints and finishes.
