Cheshire County Commissioners bought the old Indian Head Bank on Keene’s West Street in 1987 to provide additional space for the Registry of Deeds and solve other expansion needs. The bank, though two-stories high, did not contain two full office floors, nor an elevator to afford handicap access. We designed an infill floor in the existing two-story lobby, an exterior elevator, complete interior rehabilitation, and created a main entrance from the former rear of the building to provide pedestrian access to the nearby courthouse.
