Moore Nanotechnology Systems, LLC was established in 1997 to devleop, manufacture and market ultra-precision manufacturing systems for emerging and high tech growth markets. The company's achievements were recognized with the prestigious 2008 Company of the Year award from the New Hampshire Department of Economic Development.

The company's abbreviated name Nanotech®, was, from the beginning, both a registered trademark and a symbol of their commitment to develop highly advanced equipment and manufacturing processes capable of achieving nanometer level surface accuracies on optical components for the defense, aerospace, consumer electronics, lighting and ophthalmic industries.

In December 2009, the company moved into their new purpose built, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Swanzey, NH designed by Charles Michal. The building is a "gateway" into the Swanzey Industrial Park and is designed to expand to 55,000 square feet as the company grows.

The building itself is designed as a precision machine, with great emphasis placed on high-performance features throughout, that enhance the productivity of the employees and ensure the high-quality of the precision products the company produces. The nationally sanctioned Advanced Buildings™ methodology was used by Weller & Michal Architects, along with LEED™ guidelines, to ensure sound environmental design.

Some special design aspects include integrated HVAC Design for both building and process loads, use of Cool Roofs, high-performance glass, super-insulated roofs and walls reduced heating loads, the use of non-toxic materials to maximize Indoor Environmental Quality, minimized stormwater impacts through Water Management, optimal use of the land in Site Design and Planning and both the building and it's systems were designed for Reduced Energy Use.
