Planning

Interiors Planning Architecture

Planning is the initial, important step every project needs to define goals, budget, schedule and feasibility clearly for all involved. By collecting information about needs, site characteristics and other project constraints in an organized way a plan can emerge. In a collaborative team process we define a vision and communicate a set of expectations. These expectations are expressed in terms of scope of the project, budget, time frames, and programmatic information relevant to initial design.

Good architecture is concerned with people. If we forget about people when we design, then we become concerned with fashion and style rather than reality and substance. People, both our clients, and others associated with the project, are important resources during the pre-design process. Working together, we establish goals, research and analyze data, uncover and test concepts, and determine needs.

Through careful initial planning we discover the nature of the whole design problem, which when stated in terms of form, function, economy and time become the bridge to architectural design. As Planners we understand and focus on the real needs of the project.

Why?

"…because design matters"
